Technological practices

LI: To use technological practices process to design a toy.

For Mrs Fisi’iahi’s Inquiry lesson, we were focusing on the three last technological processes. They were: build, test and evaluate. We used the required materials in order to build the AUV rover. After this, we tested and compared each group’s rover to see which group was able to scramble across the floor the furthest. Evaluating our results was the last step.

ASB Getwise

 In the morning we learned about money and how we should save money , and spend it wisely. Marlon gave us $1800 we had to spend it for a trip to Fiji. We had to buy a passport for $200. Then we had to buy a ticket there were two options $500 or $800 the difference is that the $500 flight you get no food and not that much space my group pick $500 because were still getting there. Next we had to buy a hotel to stay there we had to choose $600 with food and a open view to the water.

ATV challenge

 LI: To strengthen connections to technology. 

We have been learning about technological practice.  This week we have been learning about the 6 processes of Technological Design and how each one is important in the process of designing a product.
We are using the processes of technological practices to  design and build a rubber band- powered rover that can scramble across the floor.

Isaac Newton | Reading/Science

 LI: To learn about Isaac Newton

This week in Reading, LS2 has been working towards Simple Machines. Apart of this, we were required to learn about Isaac Newton. Isaac Newton is a physicist, mathematician, theologian and a Astronomer. We were also required to create a DLO with the following questions: Why is his work important? What did he find out? How does his work connect to simple machines? I found this activity really fun because I got to work with other people
