LI: To create a collage of your camp highlights

This week LS2 have been celebrating our camp. I created this collage to show my time at camp and the activities I enjoyed. To make my collage effective I thought about the size of the images, the angle of the images and I tried hard not to leave any gaps between the photos.

Marc/Duffy Role Model Assembly

L.I: To have a fun experience during the Duffy Role Model Assembly.

Today was Panmure bridges schools first Duffy assembly  of 2021.  Marc and Karen from duffy in schools came in and Marc was telling us a story about how his life was hard, when he was young and how it was hard for him in his school days. He told us that when he was young kids used to bully him because the teachers used to put him up in front of the school and make him read. Marc used to read from his right to his left he got bullied for that. This was a fun and cool experience to learn about his story.

Key Competencies

LI: To compare the Key Competencies we think we will use on camp and the Key Competencies we actually used.

Before we went to camp our challenge was to think about when we might use the Key Competencies as we faced the challenges.  When we came back from camp we looked at this and compared how we thought we would use the Key Competencies and how we actually used them. I found this activity fun because I got to do it with my activity group.

LI: To a collaborative brochure that tells others why Kokako Lodge is a great place to go on camp
Over the last week everyone challenged themselves during the sessions at archery, high ropes, kayaking, raft building, camp cooking, pancake race and team building/orienteering. Our group collaborated to create a brochure that shows others why Kokako Lodge is a great place to go on camp.

The terrifying high beam

LI: To recount a 5 minute snapshot of one experience you had at camp

First I climbed up the ladder in fear then my legs started to tremble. After I passed the ladder I climbed on to the staples, one leg then the other, I finally stepped on to the beam as I was shaking to the bone. As I took my first step I felt goosebumps go up my spine, in spite of this I speeded straight forward to the next pole.

Third as I hugged The pole  with all of my might I knew it was almost over all I needed to do was walk to the middle I walked to the middle of the beam, I took one foot off, then the other, after it almost seemed I was floating. I was so proud as I dropped off the beam.

As I was floating down from the beam I looked back at my group with success in my eyes. As my feet hit the ground I had a sense of relief that I had accomplished what I had done.

After I completed the activity I felt so happy with myself for having the courage to walk across the beam. I walked away from the activity proud of myself in my accomplishment.

Last week we went to camp at Kokako Lodge. My 5 minute snapshot shows my personal voice and I have tried hard to paint a picture with my words to describe what I was doing and how I felt.
