This week we were practising our addition and subtraction strategies.I have created DLO to show the strategy I used to solve the question I enjoyed doing this activity.

we needed to go around the classroom and we needed to see what is the  most popular animal the most popular animal was panda and dog the second most popular animal is lion

this is my house hold i had a budge of $100 i need  to spend money on my family to get a present for all of my parents and my siblings in the google slides you will see what I have bought them. 

we needed to see how much money it would take to buy my family presents i was left with $25 

I could buy me something with that $25 .

LI: to show your strategies  

 This week in maths Afatia, Lukah, haylee, Juel and I created a DLO about our challenge we did in Maths.Our maths challenges were based on our learning about weight. We solved three separate word problems and chose one to make a dlo about. We explained our strategy on how we got the answer. Our problem was to figure out the combination of animals to match the weight of an elephant.

time

 

this week for maths we had to get into pares and play a game. we had to give our partner a time and they have to guess it it was a fun game to play because it was like a competition .

Maths/clocks

 L.I to work out the elapsed time. 

Today for maths our group used the maths clocks to help us work out the answer to the elapsed time questions. Elapsed means the time has gone by . we need to find a time then find how many minutes or how many hours it took. i like trying to find out the answer to the question. it was a fun activity to do it helps me tell the time and it helps me with my maths.

L.I to practise defining maths vocabulary words 

To help us practise the meaning of maths words. Mrs Anderson taught us a game called maths word challenge. I worked with Lilly and hosea  on this game.  To play the game 2 players found a word from the maths word game,  then had to give a clue to the person trying to  figure out the math word who was sitting with their back to the other players. 

Statistical Investigation: Kowhaiwhai designs

LI: To carry out a statistical investigation across PBS to find the most popular kawhaiwahi
design.

Our group worked collaboratively to carry out a statistical investigation to help Miss Pryde choose the winning kowhaiwhai design for our PBS Te Reo blog. When we asked the students the designs on the DLO were the most popular. If you click on the link you will see all the kowhaiwhai designs our class created.

5 times table

 this is my 5 times tables and it was very easy i choose a random number and i had to do my five times tables and it was very easy this is a fun app to learn your time tables.

11 times table

this here is my 11 times table i got a 12 out of 12 this is a fun maths activity to do and it is a little bit hard but you can try here is the link to do the activity

for Math we had to make a plane and the name of the  plane i made was named zip flip and when i flew my plane it flips and it glides. we went to the hall when we finished making our planes and started to fly our hard  work paper planes.

       L.I to use statistics  to answer a question

this week for math I had to go around asking people what sports they like the options I had were basketball,soccer,cricket  or other this graph below shows the results.

I found that other sports were the most popular

but the second most popular sport was basketball the least popular was cricket.

I did a record  sheet then  I did a tally sheet and a graph.

this week for maths we had to roll a dice and what ever number it rolls on we have to put it down and 

we have to put the numbers we rolled  wed had to roll it  50 times .

this week for kiwi can we did a activity we had to make a cross that involves shapes and
we had to make a cross some of us did not pass but some people where close to doing the
cross because they never gave up the thing we where learning about dealing with challenges.

his week for math I was learning about 2D shapes and 3D shapes on the slide it shows what 2d shapes I made. I made it by using blue tack and toothpicks it had to be stabled so it can stay that shape.
